Proper maintenance of a diesel forklift helps extend its lifespan, ensures safety, and maintains its operational efficiency. Below is a periodic maintenance guide for diesel forklifts:
1. Daily Maintenance
-
Check engine oil level: Ensure the oil is always at the standard level.
-
Check coolant level: Refill if necessary to prevent engine overheating.
-
Check transmission oil: Ensure there are no leaks and that the level is sufficient.
-
Check hydraulic oil: Ensure the lifting system operates smoothly.
-
Check tires: Monitor wear and ensure tire pressure meets standards.
-
Check braking system: Ensure brakes function properly and are not worn out or unresponsive.
2. Periodic Maintenance
Perform maintenance based on the forklift’s operating hours:
🔹 After every 250 operating hours (about 1 month)
-
Change engine oil.
-
Replace the engine oil filter.
-
Check and clean the fuel filter.
-
Inspect and adjust the drive belt tension.
🔹 After every 500 operating hours (about 3 months)
-
Replace the fuel filter.
-
Change the transmission oil if needed.
-
Inspect the cooling system and clean the radiator.
-
Check the hydraulic system and replace the oil if necessary.
🔹 After every 1000 operating hours (about 6 months)
-
Replace hydraulic oil and hydraulic oil filter.
-
Inspect the entire braking system.
-
Check and tighten chassis bolts.
🔹 After every 2000 operating hours (about 1 year)
-
Overhaul the engine if necessary.
-
Inspect and replace glow plugs (if applicable).
-
Inspect and maintain the entire steering and lifting system.
3. Notes on Diesel Forklift Maintenance
✔️ Use high-quality engine oil, hydraulic oil, and fuel.
✔️ Do not operate the forklift with insufficient oil or coolant.
✔️ Clean the air filter regularly to avoid excessive fuel consumption.
✔️ If unusual signs occur (black smoke, weak engine, strange noises), inspect immediately.
✔️ If you lack repair experience, have the forklift serviced at professional centers.
